As of 1^st November, we will be expanding our roaming footprint and making changes to some of our existing roaming services.

At Epic, our goal is to enable you to stay connected with those who matter the most just as you would at home.

What changes will be applied to the current Roam Like at Home footprint?

You are still able to use your mobile plan while roaming in the EU & UK just like you would if you were in Malta, at no extra cost. The countries forming part of the EU & UK footprint in which you can ‘Roam Like at Home’ are:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Slovakia, Sweden, Netherlands & United Kingdom.

The following countries will be removed from the current EU & UK Top-up Roaming footprint list and instead added under the ‘Traveller’ bundle countries:

Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Isle of Man, Jersey & Switzerland.

What will it cost me to call & text while visiting one of the EU countries mentioned above?

You are still able to use your mobile plan while roaming in the EU and UK just like you would if you were in Malta, at no extra cost. The ‘Roam Like At Home’ is still enabled by default to any one of our roaming enabled tariffs and charges as per below:

How much will it cost me if I’m roaming in one of the ‘Traveller’ countries?

‘Traveller’ gives you more than three times the value with 100minutes to call Malta, 100 SMS towards any country, Unlimited receiving calls and 100MB of internet, all valid for 1 day.

This is now at €5.99 per day instead of €6.00 per day.

The daily bundle will start only when you make or receive the first call, send the first SMS or carry out an internet session. It is charged only on the days that you use your phone. The daily bundle is active until 11:59 pm of the same day.

You can make use of the ‘Traveller’ bundle when roaming in any of the following countries:

What happens if I consume all my ‘Traveller’ bundle allowance?

Should you use up all your bundle allowance for the day, the following rates will apply:

Calling Malta & Other Traveller Countries: €0.25c/min (no change)
Calling all Other Countries: €2.99/min (instead of €1.85c per minute)
SMS to anywhere: €0.05c/SMS (no change)
Data: €0.05c/MB, unitized per MB (instead of €0.10c per MB)

How much will it cost when visiting a non-EU/UK and a non-‘Traveller’ country?

When roaming in any other country which is not included in the EU footprint listed above and is not a Traveller country or you are not enrolled to Traveller plan, you will have a new simplified rating depending on the country you are roaming, irrespective of the network you connect to within the roaming country. What are the changes for calling and texting international numbers whilst in Malta?

The below countries have been moved from Zone 3 to Zone 4:

Ascension Island, Cook Islands, Diego Garcia, Falkland Islands, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Sao Tome & Principe, Solomon Islands, St Helena, Tonga, Tokelau, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Western Samoa

The call rate for the above countries, moving to Zone 4 will increase from €0.35 per minute to €4.50 per minute.

The international call rate to Zone 4 is now €4.50 per minute (it was €2.91 per minute) and sending a SMSs will now cost €0.99c (it was €0.23c per SMS).

What are the charges when calling an International Premium number?

Calling International Premium Numbers when in Malta and whilst roaming shall be charged depending on the ‘Premium Zone’ that the respective prefix pertains to.

Currently, this is being charged as per normal standard international calling rates depending on where the destination country is within the standard International calling Zones.

Note: All rates shall be charged on a per minute basis.
