As the TechOps Team Lead, you will spearhead our dedicated TechOps team, driving the operational excellence of our critical IT platforms and applications in a dynamic telecom environment. This leadership role demands not only a profound technical expertise across a diverse range of technologies such as GrayLog, GitLab, JIRA, Docker, Ansible, Python, SQL/PLSQL, Nagios, Grafana, and Linux/Windows systems, but also strong capabilities in team leadership and project management. You’ll utilise your skills to troubleshoot complex technical issues, mentor your team, and explore innovative solutions, thereby ensuring our systems operate smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Project Management: Lead the planning and execution of both business and operational projects, ensuring they are aligned with organisational goals. Drive team performance through effective leadership and project management strategies.
  • Software Design and Innovation: Guide your team in the design of new software components and workflows, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • System Optimisation: Work collaboratively with your team to identify and implement improvements to existing systems and workflows, enhancing efficiency and performance.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Take the lead in resolving complex technical issues within defined SLAs, fostering a proactive approach to problem management to mitigate future challenges.
  • Quality Assurance: Lead efforts in black/grey box testing, ensuring the identification and escalation of bugs, and driving the automation of manual processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Technology Exploration: Champion the research and testing of new technologies, positioning the organisation at the forefront of innovation.
  • On-call Leadership: Manage a 24/7 on-call support system, ensuring your team provides reliable and responsive service.

  • Advanced System Monitoring: Utilise your expertise in system analysis to drive improvements across IT platforms.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate an advanced understanding of scripting and programming languages, aiming to automate processes and increase efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Agile Management and Leadership: A robust grounding in Agile methodologies, coupled with a strong focus on leadership and team management within a technical setting.
  • Professional Experience: At least three years of experience within system engineering or DevOps, demonstrating a successful track record of project delivery and personal development.
