About the role
The role will be within the BI, Fraud and Revenue Assurance Team, responsible for the company’s data warehouse, all the data and reporting requests, fraud, revenue assurance and ERP.
The exciting part of this new role is that you will be involved in the creation of a new data warehouse from the get-go, a rare learning opportunity not to be missed. Also, the wealth of knowledge on the telecoms industry that the role exposes you to is invaluable.
In the longer term the role will be focusing on expanding, improving and maintaining the data streams through new projects, new technologies and ongoing business requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Gain good knowledge on the company’s numerous data sources to be integrated into the data warehouse
- Work together with other developers in a team to build a new data warehouse
- Design and build large data models and ensure high quality data
- Work closely with business stakeholders to produce meaningful data and applications
- Gain knowledge on the existing data warehouse and environment
- Learn and understand how legacy flows operate to build simpler and better ones
Tech stack
- Linux shell scripting, Python, PL/SQL and PySpark
- Oracle and open source ETL/ELT data integration tools such as Talend
- Relational database management systems such as Oracle ad PostgreSQL
- Data storage systems such as Hive and S3
- Development tools such as GitLab and Docker
- Various BI reporting tools such as SAP BusinessObjects and PowerBI
- Project management and collaboration tools such as JIRA and SharePoint

Credentials and experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field
- Previous experience in a data, BI or software development environment
- Good knowledge of data warehouse design and data modelling
- Good knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL and any data integration tool
- Experience with different operating systems, especially Linux, will be considered an asset
- Experience in Python will be considered an asset
- Experience in telecoms will be considered an asset
- Experience in database administration will be considered an asset
